Conservation Projects
As part of the AAA Scuba Group, and in collaboration with our sister company, Aquatic Adventures, we take part in a number of citizen science and local conservation projects

Snorkel Against Debris
In conjunction with our scuba diving brethren, we have adopted some of our most popular local snorkel and dive sites, and run monthly cleanup sessions where we remove trash, discarded fishing equipment and other detritus from the ocean.

Northern Pacific Seastar cleanups
The NPS is an invasive species which has become all too comfortable in our local waters in Port Phillip Bay. We run cleanup sessions to remove them alongside Earthcare St Kilda, as well as independently within our club.

Great Victorian Fish Count
Every November and December, hundreds of divers and snorkelers plunge into the water to take part in the biggest citizen-science event on Victoria’s marine calendar, the Great Victorian Fish Count - we are no exception!

Sea Slug Census
Sea Slugs are excellent indicators of how our environment is changing, and a popular critter for snorkelers to find.
Collecting photos of sea slugs present at different times during the year helps to monitor these species and track any changes.

Survey Snorkels
Our sister-company, Aquatic Adventures, do a lot of marine life surveys, and there is always need for the "surface perspective" noting the specimens which divers often miss as they are on the bottom!

Beach clean-ups
It's all well and good cleaning up the ocean, but the easiest way is often to solve the problem before it starts. We like to join in with local groups and be a part of beach cleanup initiatives wherever possible.
